Wonderful stay with friends
Had wonderful stay with all our friends.
A snowy winter wedding
We had our wedding in February, the building was used as our venue. The snow allowed us to get amazing pictures. The outdoor space easily had enough space for us and managed to keep us warm.
Years of great stays
We live staying at Grandma’s and have for years. Great spot, wonderful views and fantastic host.
A welcoming group getaway
We had an incredible time at this property and Jarvis was so welcoming and kind. He has put a tremendous amount of work and love into creating a wonderful destination property for group gatherings. We stayed in the farm house which was lovely. As the name implies, it truly feels like you are at grandmas house. Super cute old farm home, well decorated, stocked and very clean! We will most definitely be back to this place in the future!!
Great place to stay
Great property and great place to stay, spectacular views and a great party room we had our wedding there all of our guests and us enjoyed the property, Jarvis is a great host as well
Surpassed our expectations
Fantastic place! I and my family were excited about this holiday and it surpassed our expectations! Jarvis and his crew are the best!!
A must-visit place
Thank you for the wonderful experience to stay in Grandma's House! The accommodation exceeded expectations. Cleanliness, comfort, and service were all excellent. The host made us feel welcome throughout. And we truly enjoyed our time and would happily come back. Indeed, a must visit place. Cheers!
Great stay
We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again. Wonderful house and property. All the comforts and couldn't ask for a better location in the country.
Beautiful Place
It was a lovely place to get out of town and spend time with colleagues. Our stay was short but sweet.
Rustic but beautiful
Beautiful views and history
Beautiful place, lots of nature and million views. Jarvis is an amazing host with an eye for history.
Perfect for our girls’ getaway
This is a unique stay which is great if you want fun, a little rustic, and lots of space to spread out. We had 6 ladies (only 5 overnight) which was a perfect size for the house. We had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed taking our snacks, drinks and games over to the granary for hanging out and having a good time. The views on the property are amazing!
So much for the kids to explore
What a wonderful location tor happy, active ten-year-olds. Tons of great places to explore and activities to try out. Those kids slaughtered me at badminton.
Just as pictured online
The home and property were just as pictured online. Beautifully maintained from the early 1900s, with modern conveniences attached. We easily found our way through the kitchen and cooked all of our meals in the house. While we explored the other buildings on the property we didn't use them as it was November and there were only 3 of us.
Fantastic experience
An amazing property and flexible, helpful hosts. We definitely plan to return again!
Heaven on earth
Great peaceful place to get away. Always amazing. We love this place.
Perfect long weekend getaway
What an amazing property! It was a perfect long weekend getaway for two families with one teenager each. Check in was pretty small town - we showed up and staff were there and the house was open. The kitchen had everything we needed and rooms were comfortable. We ate outdoors most of the time. No need to leave the property — lots of room to hike and explore.
Thanksgiving weekend
Perfect place to host Thanksgiving dinner! Everyone loved walking around the property which is so beautiful! Comfortable place to stay and as always Jarvis is a great host.
Beautiful country stay
This was our third stay and we'll be back. It's a wonderful house to stay in on a beautiful property overlooking the North Saskatchewan River. We loved it.
5/5 – Perfect Spot for a Celebration!
We had my sister’s ring ceremony here with around 40–50 guests, and the property was amazing. The main house, cabin, party area, and saloon were all well-kept and spacious. The trail to the river with a cozy cabin along the way was a lovely bonus. Beautiful views all around — we recommend staying 3–5 days to fully enjoy everything. Great place just outside Saskatoon!
Excellent!
Second time here and enjoyed it just as much as the first! Beautiful place in nature!
o
Awesome location. Gorgeous property. Kids now have an excellent memory!
Relaxing Getaway
Good Solitude, Beautiful countryside, Very accommodating host. Well stocked, everything we needed was here. Good internet and TV service.
Beautiful quiet spot overlooking river
Jarvis is a great host and the house, property is secluded and very scenic. Have booked here in the past and will do so again. John and Charlene
Beautiful & Cozy Hideaway!
This was the perfect hideaway to cozy up with some friends! The views on the property are spectacular and Jarvis was a fantastic host and was available whenever we needed. I highly recommend and we will be back for future stays at Grandma's House.
This is peace.
Serenity at it's best.
Great stay!
Awesome location on the river! Beautifully fixed up yard and buildings. There was some trash left from the previous occupants.
Grandmas House
Amazing views plenty of space and a wonderful host. Highly recommend
Nice get away
Nice break from the city. The views were great - saw wildlife - and our favourite part was having a fire in the evening in such peaceful surroundings.
Writing Retreat
The farm house is an excellent place for a writing retreat. The beautiful setting and quiet surroundings were perfect. The rooms were comfortable. Our host was most kind. Thank you.
Nice Quaint place
Very nice property, Amazing views of river and surrounding land. Lots of good photo opps. house was clean, and property was clean. owner was very helpful and curtious. enjoyed our 10 days there.
Family fall holiday
Beautiful property and land. The house was extremely clean and immediately felt like home. We will definitely return.
Wonderful as always!
I've been before and will be again - the love and care Jarvis has for the property, his non-stop work in adding and expanding options on the property, and the exceedingly rare combination of comfort and seclusion cannot be overstated.
relax recharge
It's a great venue to enjoy quality time with people and nature. Lots to do, many places to explore. A very nice and recharging energy to the site.
quiet, beautiful, comfortable, relaxing
We have stayed here several times now. It's a much anticipated get-away for us. Once again, a great stay in a beautiful location. Always enjoy the wildlife as well. This time many deer and three moose. Nice hikes along and into the river valley too. There are many different spaces to explore on the property and enjoy. We'll be back.
Returning guest
Year two did not disappoint! Absolute beautiful property with stunning views. Even saw the northern lights
Off to Grandma’s House We Go!
We had book this beautiful getaway for family to stay in while having our Wedding during the stay. It was a dream come true and the view was breathtaking. If you want to unplug and getaway from it all, this is your place. We will definitely visit again and the host was lovely.
Great get away close to home
Great place for anyone who loves nature. Beautiful view of the river valley, quiet, wide open space, natural prairie, kayak or canoe to petrofka bridge (nice 2 hr plus paddle with current but need strap on wheels to get you kayak down to the river. Jarvis is a great host.
Deer, coyotes, stars
This is a lovely, remote but close to Saskatoon property with comfortable accommodation, beautiful terrain for walking and wildlife observation, and wonderful star gazing at night.
Beautiful Farm Setting
Amazing! Great for everyone, especially the puppies. We will most definitely return. Don’t miss the sunset while sitting on the edge of the river valley.
Lovely Getaway
My husband, two kids and puppy had a great time! It was nice to submerge ourselves in nature. We loved Jarvis' new "cowboy bbq" area the most... we had a fire in the evening in this area and it was magical. This would be a great place for any event in the county, big or small. Thanks for having us!
Exceeded all expectations!
Property is amazing and host is great. A short drive from the city and you are in the most beautiful surroundings. Farm-fresh eggs were an unexpected nice touch! Will definitely return.
Magnificent, rustic, picturesque property with modern conveniences and wonderful host!!
To enjoy a simpler life, to reminisce of different times and stroll through this nostalgic property; full of history, heirlooms and wonderful scenery was a privilege. The property is great; Jarvis makes the property come to life further with his passion of hospitality, when we crossed paths. Loved it all!!
Crocuses!
A beautiful, quiet, serene property on a gorgeous ravine, with access to the North Saskatchewan river. A great place to get away from the city and experience life on a natural prairie. Thousands of crocuses were blooming during our time there.
Experience the Past
A marvelous trip back in time. A beautiful setting and an incredible old spirited home. A wonderful place to photograph birds! We suggest having someone clean all the dishes and appliances even if they are just for show. Also the smell of mildew downstairs. Otherwise a great stay at a very unique place.
Prairie Farm house holiday
Such beautiful landscape and nature. Very quiet and serene. Lots of space to walk and for our dog to run. Lovely bonfire pit. Jarvis was so hospitable, thoughtful and kind. The party room is lovely. Thank you Jarvis!
Getting acquainted happily
It is a beautiful location along the North Saskatchewan River, with the wooded hills rolling beyond the other shore. The property features a deep, lush ravine, at the bottom of which a creek has been turned into a series of lagoons by beavers. Now that spring has arrived, many migratory birds can be heard. We could stay only one night, but felt relaxed and inspired by the experience.
Second trip.
Our first trip was in the winter, so to see the river & scenery in the summer was quite amazing. My dog & I did a lot of walking & sightseeing. Very peaceful & quiet. Jarvis is a great host. Looking forward to our next trip to Grandmas House this Christmas.
Wedding Ceremony
We stayed for 5 nights and held our wedding ceremony here. It was such a beautiful place and the farmhouse had plenty of room for us and the rest of the wedding party. This location would work great for larger family events or small groups to hang out with some privacy in the countryside. Jarvis our host was excellent and was always quick to respond with anything we might need. We will be staying again!
Perfect group accommodation
6 friends and 2 dogs met up for a long weekend getaway. Comfy home, well-equipped with everything we could need (we cooked Easter dinner here!) and lots to see and explore on the property. Jarvis was warm and welcoming, making sure we had a nice walking path through the snow and farm-fresh eggs. What a treat! Looking forward to a return trip someday to see the prairie in the summer.
A family wedding at Grandmas.
Our family stayed at this rustic home and rented the event center for my son’s small wedding. There was plenty of space for all. Jarvis surprised us with fresh farm eggs one morning. The background for pictures was amazing. Thank you Jarvis for allowing us to use your space
Annual Girls Trip
I chose Grandma’s House for our annual girls trip this year and it met all of our expectations! We loved the house and all the creaky noises. Lots of nostalgia there. Jarvis was a fantastic host! He helped make our stay so much fun, and tried to answer all our historical questions. We were able to take walks, go down to the river, have a fire in the fire pit, watch the northern lights, play games, and laugh ourselves silly! The place is so picturesque, and we were so comfortable and happy to be there!
A Wonderful Prairie Experience
We rented the place to celebrate our anniversary with our family. The farm house is restored character home that has been thoughtfully decorated and feels like a window into an earlier time. The property has amazing views of the river hills and walking trails down to the river. We enjoyed having a fire with some friends in the cowboy bbq area and had a really relaxing time. It is a truly unique property and a real Saskatchewan experience. Jarvis is a wonderful host and even brought us some fresh farm eggs. We will definitely be back!
Awesome getaway!
Very beautiful property with a house, barn, large gathering building and breathtaking views of the river valley. The walk down to the river is long and steep so you do have to consider your fitness level especially going back up. Make sure to bring bug spray. Main house has 4 bedrooms with comfortable beds and 2 full bathrooms. It's nice to getaway where it is quiet and there are no neighbors for miles.
Amazing stay and Amazing Host
Amazing Amazing... Jarvis and his sister are the best soul in this world, they are great host. My car fell in ditch, Jarvis came and struggle for more than an hour to pull it out in bad weather. I just can't thank enough... If humanity exist... They are the example of it. I am really greatful to them. They are so sonice.
AMAZING Get-away!
My friend and I wanted to unplug from the world for a few days and this farmhouse was exactly what we were looking for. With complete solitude and the option of using electronics or not (TV, wifi, etc), we chose to unplug completely. The house and area were better than described, with everything you need in a home away from home. My dog and my friend’s dog loved our walks above and down into the river valley (as did we), and we look forward to our next reprieve there! Thank you, Jarvis, for sharing this lovely property with us!
Fall get away
Its our favorite time to get away with all the fall colors. This place has an incredible view of the river. We saw a moose. I would bring binoculars so you can see them better..... We had a bonfire at night and it was great to see the stars.... The house has a cozy feeling and we also brought our cozy blankets and slippers... You can also watch a movie... The host enjoys meeting people, and brought over some eggs and gave a tour in his own truck of the river pathway... its a nice place to hike as well...
Beautiful place
Jarvis was very accomodating and friendly. The land was gorgeous with great views, a nice fire pit area with chairs included and lots of firewood. There was a BBQ and the house was stocked with everything you need just bring the food! We left early due to there being no A/C because the temps were 32 outside and the house definitely heats up. The ad didn't say that it had ac so not the owners fault but we just couldn't sleep in the heat. Would be nice to visit when it is not the middle of the summer though!
Peaceful Paradise
This was our 5th stay at Grandmas. As always, Jarvis makes every vacation their our best vacation ever. Great hiking with so many different trails to choose from. You decide - from super easy to challenging. The river is beautiful. It changes every day. Our dogs love it, It takes us almost 8 hours to drive up, but it's worth it. The dogs recognized we were close once we hit Saskatoon and they started getting very excited. The house is beautiful and spacious. If you are going up with a few people there is still a lot of room for privacy. It has lots of amenities - internet, satellite, 2 bathrooms., laundry. It's perfect.
Best Vacation Ever
This was our fourth visit to Grandmas House since we first discovered it in Oct. 2021. I’ve experienced all four seasons at Grandmas House and every single visit has exceeded our expectations. This trip exceeded them by far. It was one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. My Mom and my Uncle were able to join us and our dogs for this trip. It was the first time I was able to share my love of this place with other people. We had a great time exploring as a group and peaceful walks alone. We saw gorgeous sunsets, migrating cranes, pelicans, beavers, deer and northern lights. There are so many different kinds of hikes you can go on. You can explore something new every day. Jarvis had put in some great new trails since our last visit. The house is great too and has everything you could want including very comfortable beds and satellite and internet. We’re going back next month for 2 weeks. I can hardly wait.
Excellent location for murder mystery party
I rented grandma's house and the granary for one night to hold my annual Halloween murder mystery dinner party. It was the perfect setting for our apres ski theme. I was able to arrive early to setup and had the least stressful pre-party day ever! The granary easily fit my 35 friends for the cocktail hour, sit down dinner, and dance party that followed! We had plenty of room to store and heat up food between the kitchen in the house and the extra fridge in the granary. Jarvis is a wonderful host and very accommodating, a very special guy. Let me mess with the breakers in the granary for my 'murder" and let me tour the property multiple times to ensure everything was in order for the event. Everyone who wanted to stay the night at the venue was able to thanks to the ample room in the house!! Every space is lovingly restored and Jarvis has an amazing eye for design with beautiful antiques and quirky vintage pieces everywhere. After 7 years of this party in every space imaginable, I may permanently use this venue as it was everything we needed.
Beautiful facility for our Trail Ride
Jarvis has a beautiful property. We hosted our first annual Trail Ride and the property was above and beyond our expectations. We had approx 30 riders each day. They pulled in Friday night with their rigs and had ample parking to camp over night. Jarvis had a big water tub and 4 pens available for our horses. His Cowboy Campfire area was the perfect blend of rustic & comfortable. We had a lovely potluck supper Saturday night. Jarvis neighbors came and made us home made doughnut and rolkucken. The trail we rode during the day offered a spectacular view of the river valley. Jarvis had even cleared trails down to the river for the more adventurous riders. Mother Nature blessed us with beautiful weather and the sky was painted with breathtaking North Lights both nights. This facility would be perfect for those that want to bring quads or ATVs or snowmobiles in the winter. The house is charming and comfortable. I would highly recommend this to property to anyone.
Genuinely was like Christmas at Grandma’s House
We were 2 family groups from out of province and had other family members come out for dinner. TLDR: No hesitation to recommend for a group if the area works for you! The house itself and the host were very hospitable, the weather less so with a cold snap limiting outdoor activities. Bedrooms range from B and B antiquey style to utilitarian but all had very comfortable beds and linens. Living space was charmingly decorated for the holidays, and the kitchen was very practically equipped and highly functional for making real meals with enough plates - cutlery for a group. There are many other buildings on the property that we peeked into during our brief -26 degree forays out that look like they’d be fun for larger parties in better weather. Saw deer, a snowy owl, an eagle, and grouse on the way into Saskatoon (which 40 min drive including 20 km on grid road that took 20 min). Fantastic sunsets and views. Note - the cost is higher than it initially appears when searching the site because the host fees actually exceeded the nightly cost by a good margin, but overall still good value for the experience.
A scenic spot we return to
Beautiful place in a scenic area. We have stayed here many times and enjoy it each time. Jarvis is a great host.
A diamond in the rough
This place is definitely a ‘diamond in the rough’…a well kept secret & on the edge of the God’s amazing creation!! It was quiet & relaxing, peaceful & rejuvenating, so much fun exploring & the sunrises & sunsets were spectacular!! Jarvis, our host, was very helpful, kind & always working to create more space & accommodations…he’s definitely a man with a vision!! Thanks Jarvis! We’ll be back!
Beautiful location, friendly host
Great experience. Beautiful location and very helpful and friendly staff and host.
Winter wonderland
We stayed at Grammas house for our family Christmas. It was amazing. Everything we needed & more. I felt like I was back in time at my Grandparents for Christmas. Jarvis was a great host. He made us feel at home. We’ll be sure to stay here again:
I love this place so much!
I just finished another week long stay with my Husband and our two dogs. It was our 3rd visit since October of last year. Like the title says, I love this place so much! That's why, even though it was November, and even though it was cold, and even though we it takes us nearly 7 hours to get there with two dogs who don't do road trips very well, we still can't wait to do it all over again and have another trip. This place is so special. The most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. So much space and solitude. It's great being able to have fun outside with the dogs and not have to worry about leashes. Because the weather did get pretty cold, we didn't get outside as much as we usually do, but that was ok too. The house is so cozy and comfortable and has everything you need. I can't wait to get back!
Excellent stay, location and property manager
Love this place and the people that run it. Looking forward to coming back regularly!
Fantastic
What a great property, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The host was super friendly and helpful and the house was amazing. Would stay again in a heartbeat but you need more then a day to explore the property Dave
Great Getaway
We have stayed at Grandma's house several times in the past and love coming out each time. Very quiet, remote with fantastic scenery. Jarvis is very helpful and responsive.
Women’s Retreat
A friendly place for six friends to come and stay. Comfortable, welcoming and spacious. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to host a group event. The sunsets were worth the drive from across the country!
The Ultimate Disconnect! 😊
Wow! Complete solitude in a stunningly beautiful, quiet setting. Our days were filled with explorations of the buildings and property. Evenings brought sunsets second to none we have ever seen! The nights entertained us with million-starred skies and cozy camp fires that we were able to build with the amply provided wood. The days ended with wonderful sleeps in cool, comfortable beds! Grandma’s rates in our top three of all places visited in Saskatchewan! Thank you Jarvis! 😊
Unique venue
Staying in a 112 year old farmhouse on the banks of the N Saskatchewan River, with views you can’t believe
Perfect
This was our second trip to Grandma’s House and it was even better than our last visit. Jarvis is constantly improving the property and I can tell how proud he is of this place. And he should be proud, the property is amazing. The house has everything you need and the beds are super comfortable. We spent every day there exploring with our two dogs. They had so much fun having an entire week without leashes. There was even a place where our dogs could go swimming. It's hard to describe how great this place is. You really need to go there and see for yourself. I can't wait to go back!
Perfectly imperfect country stay
Jarvis is a lovely host for his country property - truly feels as though you are visiting grandma's house. The views of the river are so beautiful!
Great Stay
Had an amazing time! The host Jarvis was incredible and very thoughtful. We stayed in -40 weather and he checked in on us to make sure everything was ok! Will definitely be going back!
Breathtaking
I spent the last week of October there with my Husband and our 2 dogs. The sunsets are spectacular, particularly when viewed from the edge of the ravine, which you can walk to in under a minute from the house. Words cannot properly describe how beautiful and peaceful it is to have scenery like this coupled with the solitude. There is so much to see, so many different walks you can go on and my dogs had a blast. The house is cozy and has everything you need. Jarvis has got to be the best host out there. He's very responsive, friendly and informative. I can't wait to come back this summer.
A unique prairie getaway.
Great location near the river with a well-equipped, comfortable farmhouse. Old prairie heritage items, not only in the farmhouse but also in outbuildings made for a unique and special stay full of nostalgia for us. We timed our visit for fall bird migration but would consider a slightly earlier visit in the future to enjoy more fully the beautiful autumn colours in the ravine and along the river.
Prairie Paradise by the River
We rented Grandma’s for a girls trip weekend of laughs, puzzles, games, and food by the river. We enjoyed how it felt like coming to grandma’s house as soon as we arrived. Cozy, clean, character, and plenty of space for us to rest and relax. We especially enjoyed the Grain Bin Entertainment space with the view of the ravine, with the sunshine coming in the windows while we worked on puzzles. The trails and the outdoors were lovely, we saw so many animals, and got to have a nice fire. The kitchen had everything we needed for a country cottage weekend and Jarvis was accommodating to answer all our questions. We are thankful we were able to rebook after we had our initial weekend plans cancelled due to pandemic, and hope to come again in the future. Thank you Jarvis for your kindness and allowing us time together in your place, and we hope you enjoy the birdhouse we left behind.
Tranquil & serene
We are return visitors to Grandma's House and again this year we were needing a time of rest and refreshment. Grandma's House is the perfect setting for some peace and solitude! Autumn is our favourite time of year and this place offers a perfect setting for viewing the fall colours. Every day held a new view as the colours changed throughout the week. During our walks by the ravine we were thrilled to catch sight of beavers, deer and Canada geese. The sunrise and sunsets were spectacular. My favourite time was walking around the farm yard in the early morning to soak in the beautiful glow of colour from the sunrise. Jarvis is an excellent host and greets guests with warm Saskatchewan hospitality. We had everything we needed including some fresh farm eggs which we thoroughly enjoyed. We returned home feeling rested and refreshed and are looking forward to our next visit to Grandma's House. We would definitely recommend a visit. Janet, Lionel & our dog Blue
Family visit made perfect
Clean and comfortable! Water temperature and water pressure were excellent. Everything we needed was available, easy to find and clean/fresh. The farm fresh eggs were enjoyed and were a special treat. Directions were provided and easy to follow. The property made for excellent photo opportunities of 4 generations. Would recommend.
Very Relaxing Time Away
Everything was as expected! Thanks.
A lovely vacation.
Thank you, Jarvis, for a lovely welcome. We had an amazing time. Enjoyed hikes and walks to the river, swam in it almost every day (even saw a beaver on our last morning). Deer and their fawns were seen almost daily. Sunsets were breathtaking... fireside every night and stargazing... lots of shooting stars during our stay :) So serene and relaxing. Thank you.
Beautiful Spot
We are return visitors to Grandma’s House and enjoy it very much. The scenery is fantastic especially the river valleys and we like all the wildlife including deer and beavers. We highly recommend this property.
A delightful place for respite or a retreat
This is the place if you want to get away from the noise and toxicity of city life. Treat your lungs with fresh unpolluted air. Treat your soul with peace and quiet. Treat your sight with the wildlife, rustic scenery and a starry sky on a clear night. Amazing places to hike. Impressive geologic structures. The farmhouse is well equipped with amenities that made our stay comfortable. Jarvis is a wonderful host who welcomed us when we arrived and saw us off before we left. The farm fresh eggs were well appreciated.
Hospitable Host + Hidden Gem = Happy Stay!
Our stay was truly a breath of fresh air and a getaway from the everyday. You will step back in time, with all the luxuries of today, combined with that old, farmstead feel - in fact you have the entire piece of land to yourself to explore! We loved the fact that we really just needed our food and clothing. The home was stocked with spices, utensils, beautiful dishes, extra blankets, etc. - and fresh farm eggs were given by the hosts for breakfast. Exploring was the best! We hiked down to the river, clearly walked through game trails and explored the big barn - each stall still had the name of their animals written along the top! At night, we went out with just our flashlights - a pigeon scared the heck out of us, and we saw an owl! If you are looking for something different, this is it. Serene, peaceful and all to yourself. I cannot wait for the next time we have the opportunity to come and visit this beautiful space again.
Bery quiet and relaxing stay with beautiful scenery.
We and our two dogs had a great stay at this farm property. The house has been renovated and is very comfortable. The grounds are near the river and we really enjoyed walking the scenic paths. Very relaxing! Lots of deer. Jarvis is great host and left us a basket of fresh farm eggs.
Good For the Soul
A thoughtful and caring restoration of a Canadian prairie gem. This farmhouse is historic yet modern, rustic yet refined, light filled joy yet dark as the silent night. A cornucopia of wildlife by a pristine setting perfect for any and all occasions. Jarvis is an impeccable host who hasn't cut any corners in amenities, provisions, or hospitality: great wifi, hot water, fabulous water pressure, comfortable beds, surplus of cooking utensils, strict cleanliness, fresh farm eggs. The highest of recommendations and much obliged for creating a special memory for our family.
Wonderful stay in the country
Grandma’s house is in a beautiful setting. The property is very well maintained and you couldn’t have a better host then Jarvis. We hope to return again. Terry S
Peaceful & scenic
Grandma's House is a gem and Jarvis is a wonderful host! Beautiful views of the autumn colours, splendid sunrise & sunsets, dark night skies with so many stars - all so amazing! Our time here was a wonderful, well needed retreat.
Great place to get away
Sitting by the fire, star gazing, great views, quiet, an excellent place to relax and recharge!
A nice get-away from city life
Jarvis is a wonderful host. Our pets had the best time. Some of our walking/hiking experiences were not for beginners. The fresh farm eggs were a delicious bonus! Recommend visitors to bring binoculars.
Retirement celebration
Loved this property!! Perfect for our 8 friends. Very much like Grandma's house. Cozy and quaint. If you are lucky enough to get a hot day and beautiful evening, like we did, it will be one for the memory books!! Thank You Jarvis.
Beautiful scenic farm house experience
Had a short but lovely and memorable stay! Highly recommend to others and will return in the future.
Amazing place in the country side
Quiet area with lots of space in doors and out.
Beautiful and relaxing!
Cozy farmhouse with all amenities located on beautiful farm overlooking North Saskatchewan River! A great place to get away, hike, relax and recharge. Our dog loves being able to run. Jarvis was an excellent host who brought farm-fresh eggs for breakfast! Will definitely be back.
Picturesque
Jarvis was an excellent host with everything in order for our stay. This secluded location was ideal for the visitors that we entertained for the evening BQ.
Picturesque
Very beautiful location, secluded, quiet & private. Jarvis was an excellent host who responded promptly and provided excellent service to any requests
An excellent stay
A great getaway
Loved our stay
So much fun for a large gathering!
Calm and relaxing getaway
Was a great getaway for us. Calm and relaxing environment allowed us to enjoy the view and take it all in.
The wood stove sold us
It was a wonderful, clean, beautiful and quiet place to stay! The wood burning stove is what drew us and it did not disappoint! Jarvis was quick to respond when we had any questions. Would definitely go back!
Beautiful trails and views
Jarvis is an incredible host and his love and passion for the blue skies ranch shows. Beautiful trails and views. Perfect for a relaxing get away as well. The fire place was amazing. Can’t wait to return! Would be amazing venue for events, retreats, weddings and more!
Private, quiet and pet friendly
The cabin is located at a very scenic river, private, quiet, pet friendly.
Amazing river valley views
The property was clean and had everything we needed. It's front windows look out over the North Saskatchewan River valley, and sunsets and sunrises are amazing. If you're coming from the south, and it's been wet, take HWY 12 up to the Hepburn turnoff and then take the grids from there, rather than coming up NW on the 16 and using the grids to come north. It takes a bit longer, but it's worth it.
Exceptional winter hospitality
We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return. The hospitality of the host was exceptional. Forman’s cabin was perfect for our getaway; clean, warm, and with all amenities we needed. We snowshoed the trails and had a big fire in the Saloon for hotdog roast with the grandkids, who stopped by for a visit. Thank you so much Jarvis, we will connect again soon.
Beautiful sunsets and a warm welcome
If you want peaceful, comfortable with the most beautiful sunsets you could hope for… This is the place for you. From check in to check out, Jarvis was a joy to work with and extremely helpful. He even started the fire in the fireplace when we showed up and had a Christmas tree waiting to help celebrate the Christmas holidays. Thank you so much for everything Jarvis! You’re the best!
Cozy cabin full of heritage charm
Cozy cabin with beautiful heritage details (glass door knobs, stained glass, etc.) that was the perfect escape from the city. Jarvis had the fire going when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. The views from the property are spectacular through the large windows facing the river. We saw many deer, sunsets, birds, native prairie landscape. So peaceful. New appliances (dishwasher too!) were handy to cook with and the oven has an air fryer setting. Kitchen is well equipped (with a crock pot even). Bring your own ice cube trays to make ice for drinks. The trails around the property are lovely and our dog had a wonderful time exploring. The cabin was spotless and even the linens had that freshly washed ‘Tide’ smell. A gem of a place that we will be back to visit again. The only things that could be listed as potential cons for the place are the sound of the water pump in one of the bedrooms. It was very loud (especially if you flushed the toilet in the middle of the night) but the hot water and good pressure made up for it. Also, wifi could be spotty because of the satellite and weather but we didn’t mind as we were going there to unplug and sit by the fire anyway.
Beautiful views, cozy and warm
Beautiful area! Nice and warm and night with the comfy duvet. Beautiful view. I will be back to explore the area more with my kids!
A cozy off-grid escape
Beautiful view and cozy cabin. No power but most necessities are provided! Jarvis was great and made sure we were comfortable and even showed us around the property. Can't wait to come back!
Spectacular northern lights
The most beautiful little spot. The cabin is perfect with the northern lights at night is just spectacular! Nothing but peace and beautiful scenery. Would recommend to anyone with some adventure in them.
Peaceful, with incredible stargazing
Pictures do not do this place justice. It is quiet and peaceful. Lots of trails to enjoy. Star gazing conditions are excellent. Jarvis was a great host.
An absolutely stunning escape
Absolutely stunning. This cabin is exactly what you need. It’s quaint and cozy but the property is phenomenal. The possibilities are endless, lots of trail walking, fishing, kayaking, exploring the property. We stayed 2 nights, saw some wildlife, saw incredible northern lights and completely reconnected with nature. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Jarvis!
A breathtaking, restful escape
We had an amazing stay! The cabin has a breathtaking view and is the perfect quiet escape from the city. Once we were settled in, all we felt was a sense of deep relaxation, the kind you don’t get at a busy lake, surrounded by neighbors, or at a campsite right next to strangers. We enjoyed some walking trails, cooked on the outdoor stove, sat on the deck staring at the view, and enjoyed the warmth of a campfire. It felt tucked away from everything yet had just what we needed for a comfortable stay. We’re already planning our next visit and even thinking of bringing the family along as there’s a nearby tent set up that would be perfect for the kids. The whole experience was so relaxing. The sunsets were incredible, with pink and orange skies, and we can’t wait to come back during the northern lights season. This place exceeded our expectations in every way. You can tell the host has a real love for this land and project. He went above and beyond for us. We absolutely loved every moment of our stay and will be back for sure!
Beautiful and relaxing
Pictures don’t do it justice- this place is very relaxing with its beautiful property and landscape.
Great spot — would love a hot tub
Hot tub will be a great option to add
Ten days of nature and calm
I booked 10 days in this tiny cabin because I wanted enough time in nature to really settle in. The land is gorgeous and me and my dogs quickly settled into a routine of 3xday walks and lots of reading. The cabin itself was super cute and cozy and Jarvis was the most welcome host I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!
