Grandma’s House is the original homestead at Blue Sky Ranch and was the first rental on the property. It has been restored rather than renovated: original ceilings, creaky old floors, and vintage pieces throughout. It looks out over the North Saskatchewan River, the ravine, and open pasture.
There is room for ten. Three bedrooms are upstairs, and the basement holds a king bed with its own bathroom and new flooring. That makes two bathrooms in the house, one on the main floor and one downstairs, and none upstairs. If stairs are a problem, the main-floor couch is a hide-a-bed. The kitchen is full-sized, the Wi-Fi is strong, the TV is satellite, and there is a washer and dryer.
Outside, walk down to the river to fish or paddle, watch for wildlife, and spend the evening around the fire pit under a sky with no lights in it. Firewood is supplied. Grandma’s House also stays open through the winter, when most of the property closes. For gatherings, The Granary common space is a short walk across the yard.
