The Riverview Cabin is built for two or three who want quiet and a view. It sits in the river hills above the North Saskatchewan, and the view from the porch is a keyhole to the river below.

It is rustic but not rough. Water is gravity-fed from a tank up the hill, and the washroom has a sink and a full flush toilet, so there are no outhouses to deal with. The outdoor shower is heated by the sun: how warm the tank got in the afternoon is how warm your shower is, and heated showers are available up the hill if the weather doesn’t cooperate. A fire pit and stove sit just outside for cooking, there is a small garden, and the cell and data reception is strong enough to work from the porch if you have to.

A tenting site comes with the cabin. It sits next door on dry, flat, level ground with two cots, and families use it the way you’d expect: kids in the tent, meals and washroom trips at the cabin. Trails run from the cabin down to the river for a walk, a paddle, or a line in the water, and the ravine the family calls the Grand Canyon of the Prairies is close by. It is about fifteen minutes from Hepburn and Langham and half an hour from Saskatoon.

  • A breathtaking, restful escape

    We had an amazing stay! The cabin has a breathtaking view and is the perfect quiet escape from the city. Once we were settled in, all we felt was a sense of deep relaxation, the kind you don’t get at a busy lake, surrounded by neighbors, or at a campsite right next to strangers. We enjoyed some walking trails, cooked on the outdoor stove, sat on the deck staring at the view, and enjoyed the warmth of a campfire. It felt tucked away from everything yet had just what we needed for a comfortable stay. We’re already planning our next visit and even thinking of bringing the family along as there’s a nearby tent set up that would be perfect for the kids. The whole experience was so relaxing. The sunsets were incredible, with pink and orange skies, and we can’t wait to come back during the northern lights season. This place exceeded our expectations in every way. You can tell the host has a real love for this land and project. He went above and beyond for us. We absolutely loved every moment of our stay and will be back for sure!

    The most beautiful little spot. The cabin is perfect with the northern lights at night is just spectacular! Nothing but peace and beautiful scenery. Would recommend to anyone with some adventure in them.
